Christantus Uche Fuels Dominant Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite entering their first-ever continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the last 16, especially after a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Moment

This occasion provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
